  • Overview

    The Scanning Specialist prepares and scans medical/laboratory requisitions for electronic transmission to website.  Maintains website by removing unnecessary requisitions.  Performs other clerical duties as assigned

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares requisitions by removing all staples and paper clips, repairing torn edges, photocopying to eliminate highlighted areas, and filling in pertinent data as required
    • Picks up and delivers requisitions to work station as required
    • Scans prepared requisitions for electronic transmission to website
    • Removes and maintains requisitions on the website
    • May be required to perform typing, filing, photocopying or other clerical type duties
    • Adheres to confidentiality, safety, compliance, and legal requirements
    • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with company guidelines on attendance
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Physical Capabilities

    • Occasional carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects; and lifting of up to 25 lbs may be required
    • Occasional reaching, stopping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
    • Frequent prolonged standing/sitting/walking
    • Must be able to see, hear, and respond adequately
    • Extensive computer and scanning work
    • Occasional use of telephone 

    Working Environment

    • Air conditioned office
    • Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards
    • Sufficient noise and interruptions to cause distractions
    • Frequent exposure to video display terminals
    • May be asked to work occasional irregular or extended hours

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum one (1) year clerical experience required
    • Familiarity with various types of office equipment
    • For hospital settings, additional requirements may apply and change without notice, including, but not limited to, criminal background check, health clearance and hospital compliance training
    • Successfully pass Company pre-employment drug test and periodic and random thereafter
