  • Overview

    Responsible for directing the company’s accounting and billing functions ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintains and monitors the planning and budgeting systems, analyzes and interprets trends requiring executive management’s attention, oversees the preparation of the financial and management reports and procedures. Monitors staff performance in accordance with human resource guidelines.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

     

    Under direct supervision, and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and guidelines, this position:

    • Oversees the company’s accounting and billing functions ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Oversees and/or prepares monthly financial statements in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Maintains and monitors the planning and budgeting systems, analyzes and interprets trends requiring executive management’s attention.
    • Provides direction to accounting staff to ensure accounting practices are adhered to in accordance with company policies and procedures.
    • Provides direction to billing staff to ensure claim statements are processed in a timely and accurate manner so revenue income meets organizational needs.
    • Assists Chief Financial Officer as required.
    • Prepares various statistical reports for internal and external purposes.
    • Monitors staff performance, completes and conducts periodic evaluations, counsels and disciplines staff as necessary in accordance with human resource guidelines.
    • Maintains staff schedules, approves timesheets, approves and monitors PTO/vacations to ensure availability of staff necessary to effectively handle daily activities.
    • Regularly trains team members and keeps them updated on any new policies/procedures and other information.
    • Willing shares knowledge with others to effectively accomplish assigned tasks.
    • Adheres to confidentiality, safety, compliance, and legal requirements.
    • Maintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with company guidelines on attendance.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Physical Capabilities

     

    • Light physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs.)
    • Occasional reaching, stopping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
    • Frequent prolonged standing/sitting/walking.
    • Must be able to see, hear, and respond adequately.
    • Extensive computer work.
    • Frequent use of telephone.

     

    Working Environment

     

    • Air conditioned office.
    • Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards.
    • Sufficient noise and interruptions to cause distractions.
    • Frequent exposure to video display terminals.
    • May be asked to work occasional irregular or extended hours.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in accounting.
    • Certified Public Accountant certification preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting and financial management practices.
    • Proficiency with accounting software, PC computer including word processing and spreadsheets, and 10-key calculators.
    • Excellent math, analytical, and data entry skills required.
    • Excellent and proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision making skills required.
    • Passes company drug testing program pre-hire and thereafter on a periodic and/or random basis.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
    • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) skills, including by telephone.
